The 3851 hectares of vineyards in Vaud are distributed among four different regions, each of which has its special topography and climate. The Vaudoise wines produced here – mainly Chasselas (almost 70%), Gamay (11%) and Pinot Noir (11%) – are defined by their individual region of origin. This explains the creation of the Canton’s 28 special labels (Appellations d’Origine Contrôlées).

Wherever You Go

There a lot of reminders that my parents have to make when traveling. They often refer me to the CDC travel guidelines. I do not know what is really up to them that they always have to remind us about that. Like they would even give us pamphlets and let us search online with their given website. I always thought the reason why they are like that because of some bad experience in traveling. But my parents have always been traveling and they don’t give any comment about it.

My parents always brag the places they have been to and the activities that they have done when they were at a much younger age. They both now are retired and just enjoy with just each other’s company. They don’t travel that often anymore and would just walk in the park or at the beach.

I have always looked up my parents with high respect. They taught me almost about everything and they were always there for me and my other siblings when we were in trouble. They both have been very supportive of us and even give us some insights and advice if we have some issues. We love our parents dearly.

The Right Places To Go

Roaming around your local city is fun because you get to taste the whole culture of the place. A lot of people have live in a particular city all of their lives but then they do not really realize the things that are present around. For those of you who are bored of seeing the same sites all over again, it is time for you to go out and visit Switzerland for a change.

There are so many destinations that you can possibly think of but somehow, Switzerland is the place that many people go to. Have you ever wondered how many countries there are which are named with a “land” after it? You can probably think of at least five right at the top of your head. It is almost like asking how many countries are there which start with the letter “s” or ends with the word “Asia”.

The travel destination that you should go to is something that you have never done before. Being in the same place twice can be great but there will come a time when it will surely bore you easily. Always be on the right path this time.

Getting To and Around Madrid

Madrid is on the routes of most large international airlines, with flights several times daily to and from major European cities. There are also scheduled airline services connecting Madrid with principal cities in North and South America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Flying time from most European capitals is, very roughly, two hours. Trains run directly between Madrid and Paris, with the fastest ones making the trip in a single day and night. Trains via Barcelona connect without change with Geneva. Within Spain, Madrid is the hub, with the main lines spreading out from it like spokes on a wheel.

For those coming by road from somewhere north of the Pyrenees, the main border crossings are at kiln (Hendaye on the French side) and La Junquera (Le Perthus, via Perpignan); this crossing offers a more direct route to Madrid. For those entering via Portugal it is simple. The most direct route by road from Lisbon to Madrid is via the road to Elvas, crossing to Badajoz.

There is a regular car-ferry service between Santander on Spain’s northern coast and Plymouth in England. The road from Santander is more direct than the one from Irvin. However, although roads are improving in Spain, not much of either route is by motorway.

Buses run between Madrid and many European cities daily during the tourist season and, in some cases, all year round. Bus is generally the cheapest form of transport.

Once in Madrid, you can use the Metro. It is cheap and it covers much of the city. A flat fare gets you to any destination on the network, except those on the outskirts, which are serviced by commuter trains. Maps are displayed inside the Metro stations.

Public buses are another option for getting around the city, but since Madrid is quite large, this method is less advisable for those who do not know the city and the routes. But, of course, hotels can advise on which buses to get for specific destinations.

You can get to and from Madrid’s Barajas International Airport (11 km from the centre) by the yellow airport bus. The bus leaves from a station in the parking area under the Plaza de Colon at half-hourly or less intervals throughout the day. Coming from the airport, the bus leaves you at the same central point. It will not pick up passengers with luggage along the route, so you should board it at the beginning of its run. There are plans for a much-needed rail link to the airport but that may be a long way off.

Taxis are either black or white with a red stripe. They are entitled to charge supplements, in addition to what is shown on the meter, for each piece of luggage, for airport trips and for certain other extras, all of which are supposed to be displayed on a list inside the cab. Since the fare system may seem complicated to a person who is not used to it, the best thing you can do if in doubt about whether you are being charged the correct fare is to ask your hotel. Sarah loves travelling around Spain, naerly as much as she loves playing Golf.
